Island Art & Artisan Show & Sale

July 1 to December 31, 2020

Although the Grand Manan Art Gallery will be closed for the 2020 season because of health concerns relating to Covid-19, we will be creating an online gallery for our Island Art and Artisans’ Show and Sale. By browsing our website, you will be able to enjoy work by artists who are Island residents or visitors, and you will have the opportunity to purchase great art at very reasonable prices.

If you would like to participate in this show, consult the Guidelines below, and submit images of your work to our Exhibition Committee in care of David Ogilvie ( We will be posting this show on July 1, and we will need to receive submissions no later than June 15.

Complete the Entry Form (click here), then scan or photograph it and email it to David, or mail a hard copy to him at 10 Marathon Lane, Grand Manan, NB E5G3A3.

You will be responsible for pricing the work. THE GALLERY WILL NOT BE CHARGING A COMMISSION ON SALES FOR THIS SHOW.

We will display your work online until December 31, 2020, and forward you any requests from buyers who may be interested in purchasing your work. In return for this service, you may submit up to four works for one Entry Fee of $25, preferably payable by E-transfer to the Gallery (, or by cheque made payable to the Gallery, and mailed to the Treasurer, Grand Manan Art Gallery, 10 Marathon Lane, Grand Manan, NB, E5G 3A3.



1. Select the piece you wish to enter in the show, and if possible, photograph it under natural light.Avoid reflections if the artwork is under glass. You can usually eliminate reflections by placing the framed piece flat on the floor in a location that is illuminated by indirect sunlight. If this does not work, you will have to photograph the work without the glass covering.

2. Move in close and to eliminate as much of the extraneous background as possible, and show details of the frame and/or mat. Take the photo with the best camera you have (most phone cameras are fine these days).

Photo Guidelines


All submitted images must be in jpg format only.

If possible, image files should have a resolution of 150 ppi, and the height of the image should be at least 1000 pixels. If you are not able to determine the resolution and height of your image, send it to us anyway, and we will make the necessary adjustments, or ask you to provide another image.

Your image files must be named using the following convention: Name, Title, Medium, Actual size of the artwork in inches.jpg , for example Ina Painter, My Painting, Acrylic, 18×24 inches.jpg.
